Definition


          Diabetes occurs with high blood glucose levels. Why accumulates glucose in blood? The glucose to be transferred from  blood into tissues and cells  requires the help of insulin produced by the pancreas. If the pancreas can not produce the hormone insulin in the amount the body needs it can not transfer glucose from the blood to the tissues and cells of the body and give it the energy it needs.



Symptoms

1. Asymptomatic
2. Coincidentally
• feel tired
• Blurred vision
• frequent urination (evening)
• increased thirst
• intense hunger
• rapid weight loss
• Wound healing difficulty
• itching
• tingling in hands and feet
• Frequent infections of the skin, urinary tract and vagina











TYPES OF DIABETES

1. Type 1
• Type 1 diabetes is the case where the pancreas can not produce the hormone insulin. It occurs mainly in children and young adults. It appears abruptly and needs emergency taking insulin.
2. Type 2
• Type 2 diabetes produce insulin but not enough to meet the needs of the organization. This type of diabetes occurs mostly in adults and overweight people. . According to the International Diabetes Federation  type 2 diabetes is the most common 90% - 95%.

3. Diabetes pregnancy
• Appears on pregnancy in overweight women and can be dangerous for both the mother and her child.

5. secondary diabetes



        People with diabetes may experience increased urination and loss of many fluids can cause dehydration, dried mucous, and abnormal and dry tongue. Characteristic is the Kussmaul breathing consisting of deep and protracted with sigh breaths, and the exhalation of acetone, blurred intellectual, decreased responsiveness to stimuli, and drowsiness may even fall into a coma if not treated in time the ketoxeosi.1

  • Usually occurs at ages 45

         Hypoglycemic, are usually patients who have taken the wrong dose of insulin, strenuous physical exercise, or decreased food intake or carbohydrate. The patient begins to perspire and lose the consciousness even they fall into a coma. In this case direct glucose uptake required orally (sweets, sugary soft drinks), if  he can not take glucose with mouth need to be transferred emergent in hospital to take glucose intravenously.1

Special Diet diabetic (Avoiding carbohydrates: sugar, white flour, sugary drinks)
• Carbohydrate Intake found mainly in rice, legumes, cereals, fruit.
